Welcome!

5 reasons to learn Argentine Spanish

1) It’s different and expressive.

Argentine Spanish sounds very special. People often say we speak like Italians speaking Spanish — fast, with strong intonation and a lot of emotion. This accent is called Rioplatense Spanish, and it’s very different from other Spanish accents.
Learning it gives your Spanish a unique and interesting touch.

2) You will discover a rich culture.

Argentina has a lot of important culture — music, movies and books. Tango started here, and also rock nacional and modern trap music. We have won two Oscars for Best International Feature Film, plus six other nominations in that category. In literature, writers like Borges, Cortázar and Bioy Casares are famous all over the world.
If you learn Argentine Spanish, you can enjoy all of this in the original language.

3) You can travel and speak with locals.

Argentina is a beautiful country and a dream destination for travellers. You can visit the Iguazú Falls, the Perito Moreno Glacier, the vineyards of Mendoza, the mountains in Patagonia, or the colorful hills in Jujuy. When you speak like a local, you understand more and people feel closer to you — in cities, small towns, and everywhere you go.

4) You will feel the passion of Argentina.

Football is a big part of life here. Argentina has three World Cup titles and is the home of football legends Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.
But there’s more — our basketball team has won an Olympic gold medal, Argentine tennis players have won Grand Slam titles, and we’ve had world champions in boxing and motorsport.
If you like football, or are passionate about sports in general, you will love learning how we speak.

5) It helps your Spanish be more complete.

Argentine Spanish is a regional variety — and learning it helps you understand more Spanish in general. You will learn how we use vos instead of tú, how we pronounce things differently, and the words and expressions we use every day.
All this makes you a better Spanish speaker.
