Did you know that there are words that are the same in English and Spanish? Yes, exactly the same!
Spanish, as well as French, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian, developed from Latin, the language of ancient Rome and the official language of its empire.
English, unlike the ones mentioned above, isn’t a Romance language, but Germanic.
However, when the Romans invaded Britain in AD 43, starting an occupation that would last over 400 years, they introduced their ideas, ways of living, and also their language.
And obviously we also have words that actually descend from indigenous languages and they were incorporated into both Spanish and English.
So whether you are a beginner or advanced student, there’s a lot of vocabulary you already know, but you just needed someone to tell you.
And I am that someone!
So today, you will learn 250 words that are the same in English and Spanish.
Ready? Let’s get started then!
